I would like to begin my first message to you as President with a note of thanks. I would like to extend my most heartfelt thanks to all who attended not only the International Conference but all Moose Legion events that were scheduled. What a tremendous turn out for the Moose Legion Fun Night but also for the Moose Legion breakfast. A very special thanks to the PMA guys and gals for a tremendous parade and welcome!!!!!!
On the Move

I am hoping everyone is ready to jump on the Moose Legion Express, which is On the Move to 100,000 members by 2013. The only way we can accomplish our goal is with your help. We MUST have active Lodge Moose Legion Committees in place to have those special functions and pricing for Moose Legionnaires only.
THE TIME IS NOW that we close the back door not only in the Moose Legion but also the Lodge. Every Moose Legion Committee should be receiving a qualified list and an arrears list from your jurisdiction Secretary, if you are not, please notify your Moose Legion President or Ambassador to inform them of your problem.
THE TIME IS NOW to sponsor at least two members in the lodge and in the Moose Legion. Remember, when you sponsor two members that get enrolled during the year – your next year’s DUES are FREE ! This is true for both the lodge and the Moose Legion.

Special Project

Our special project for this year is Lighting the Way to Mooseheart’s Centennial. We as Moose Legionnaires have always been known to go that extra mile. With this years project we are no different. There are many cement light fixtures that need to be replaced. The goal is $105,000.00 to be raised.
Those Moose Legions that complete their commitment by April 30th, 2011 will have special recognition on the newly installed light poles. Don’t forget to take advantage of the discount program. Moose Legions paying their complete commitment by November 30th following the Triple Play program in November will receive a 20% discount and those Moose Legions completing their commitment by February 28th, 2011 will receive a 10% discount. WHAT A DEAL!!!!!!

President’s Project

In continuing with tradition I am having a special President’s project. Mooseheart schools are in need of a software program that is needed to do grading, scheduling and other administration duties, which are now being done manually. I know you feel as I do that our children deserve the best, so I have selected this project.
The cost of the software, training and etc. is $15,000. A grant has been applied for that may or may not cover up to $10,000. If the grant is received the excess funds will be used to purchase home appliances for various homes on campus.
I am hoping you will support this project by having each jurisdiction hold a fundraiser during the year. I know you will not let our children down. Many thanks in advance!!!!!!!

For the first time – Moose Legion Medal of Honor “qualified members” will be invited to participate in the Moose 25 Club
Party at the International Convention.

What is “qualified”?
It is really pretty simple, and mirrors the 25 Club program itself:

If a Moose Legionnaire earns the Medal of Honor during the
2009 – 2010 fiscal year by achieving 50 lifetime membership units in the program, He has then QUALIFIED.

If a Moose Legionnaire is already a Medal of Honor holder and earns five (5) membership units during the 2009 – 2010 fiscal year, He has then QUALIFIED.

If a Moose Legionnaire is qualified in both the 25 club and the Medal of Honor program (by either attaining them during the year and / or being credited with 5 membership units in each) – He is then QUALIFIED to get upgraded seating to the next better level of seating corresponding to his 25 Club Level.

How close are you to achieving the Medal of Honor ?
- or – how close are you to earning five units for the year -
if you have already previously earned the Medal of Honor?

We have until April 30th to sponsor and have the units reported.
